Margaret Walker Alexander

Margeret Alexander was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She became a Professor of Jackson State University in the 1960's.  She wrote and published Jubilee in 1966.

in Clinton, Mississippi. She was once emplyed by the  National Park Service as a ranger and worked along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. She is most known for her

Operatic soprano, first black to achieve stardom in opera, winner of fifteen Grammy awards! Leontyne is a famous opera singer from 
Laurel, Mississippi. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
